Open Strings Project at Child Crisis Arizona

Open for students age 11-17 who are in a Strings class in Mesa and Gilbert schools

Starting in August 2025

In collaboration with Child Crisis Arizona, Mesa, we are offering an exciting opportunity: a free after-school strings class offered specifically for students in the East Valley community.

This program is open to students who are currently enrolled in their school’s orchestra program within the Mesa/Gilbert school district (must have an instrument).

The class will focus on chamber music, ensemble playing, and continued development in areas such as intonation, tone production, posture, and technique.

Classes will be taught by a skilled teaching artist from Hammer & Strings Academy and will be held at the Child Crisis Center in Mesa every Wednesday from 4:00–6:00 PM, beginning August 20th.

Instruments include Violin, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass.
