Born from a simple belief.
Hammer & Strings Academy was founded in the East Valley with one conviction: zip code should never determine a child's access to music education. In communities like Mesa, Gilbert, and Chandler — where Title One schools are underfunded and private lessons are out of reach for many families — we stepped in.
What started as a handful of free group classes has grown into a full scholarship pipeline, bridging talented young musicians from their first note all the way to conservatory-level training. Every program, every partnership, every donated dollar feeds a system built to change trajectories.

No student is turned away for inability to pay. Free and reduced-cost instruction is our foundation — because talent doesn't check bank account balances.

Accessible doesn't mean average. Our instructors hold advanced degrees, and our students are held to the same standard as those paying full tuition anywhere in the Valley.

Every student who walks through our doors enters a pathway. The most dedicated rise through it — earning scholarship support that carries them all the way to professional-level conservatory training.
The Academy feeds the Conservatory. The Conservatory proves what's possible.
Hammer & Strings Academy (the nonprofit you're on now) handles free and affordable music education — bringing music to students who would otherwise go without. The sister program, Hammer & Strings Conservatory, provides elite private instruction for serious students. Our scholarship pipeline is the bridge between them.
Together, the two programs create something rare: a complete, community-rooted pathway from first exposure to professional-level artistry.
