We welcome students ages 5 through 18. Younger beginners (ages 5–7) are placed in our introductory group classes where the focus is musical fundamentals, listening, and fun. Older students may begin at any level — there is no experience requirement to register.
We currently offer instruction in violin, viola, cello, piano, and voice. If your student isn't sure which instrument interests them, select "Not Sure Yet" on the registration form and our team will help guide the decision during our initial conversation.
Group classes are offered free of charge or at a reduced tuition based on family need. School Outreach instruction is fully funded — no cost to participating families. If you have concerns about cost, please check the scholarship box on the form. No student is turned away due to financial hardship.
Students who demonstrate exceptional dedication and aptitude may be nominated for our Scholarship Pipeline — a pathway to advanced, full-tuition instruction at Hammer & Strings Conservatory. Nomination is made by Academy instructors after at least one semester of enrollment. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis and funded through individual donor gifts and Arizona QCO tax credit contributions.
Group classes are held at our East Valley facility as well as select community center partners in Mesa, Gilbert, and Chandler. School Outreach instruction takes place on-site at participating Title One schools. Exact location details are confirmed when our team reaches out after you register.
